Yesterday morning, the new shougang bridge, located on the west extension line of chang 'an avenue, completed the completion of the steel beams as the last section of the beam was slowly lifted and put into the longkou.According to the plan, the world's first twin-tower cable-stayed steel composite system bridge will be opened to traffic by the end of September.

After more than three years of construction, the new shougang bridge has now flown across the yongding river, linking the shijingshan and mentougou districts.Overlooking the Beijing area of the largest span, the highest height of the bridge across the river, it is particularly magnificent.

Viewed from the outside, the new shougang bridge is an inverted u-shaped double-inclined steel tower cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 1,354 meters, of which the main bridge is 639 meters long, the main span is 280 meters, and the widest bridge deck is 54.9 meters. It is the widest steel bridge in China, about 2.7 times the width of nanjing Yangtze river bridge. In addition, the bridge has an all-welded steel structure, with a total steel structure of 45,000 tons, surpassing the 42,000 tons of the national stadium "bird's nest".Due to the two inverted "U" shaped steel towers to the east, the west of both sides of the tilt, from the height overlooking, as if two face to face sitting on the ground tug of war athletes, feet to feet, hand in hand, their backward force to stretch, just like a steel works of art with both strength and beauty.

At 10am yesterday, at the construction site, the last beam section of the bridge was slowly lifted and inserted into the closure with zero errors.Kou zhiqiang, project manager of the new shougang bridge, said that because the steel structure is sensitive to temperature, it often expands and contracts with the change of temperature, so the temperature change must be taken into account when the bridge closes.

"In addition to the temperature, the structural shape of the bridge has also brought considerable difficulties to the construction."Kou zhiqiang told Beijing youth daily that the inverted u-shaped steel towers on both sides of the bridge are 124.93 meters and 76.49 meters high, respectively. They are twisted in three-dimensional space and tilt at different angles in the air. Also inclined are the cables on the bridge, 112 of which are arranged in a harp-like arrangement, together pulling up the bridge's more than 30,000 tons of steel box girder, transferring the weight of the beam and bridge deck to the Leaning Tower.

The new shougang bridge will be completed by the end of September this year, and the bridge will be open to traffic. When completed, the bridge will be a landmark building in western Beijing, adding a new fast track into and out of the central city.
